Collective US/Abbas Response to Another Unity-Government Rocket Fired on Israel: Oops!

Palestinian terrorists fired another post-unity government rocket at Israeli civilians -- and the collective response of the US government and Abbas is the same: Oops!

The Jewish Press reports that US Admits: Hamas Unity Government Can Launch Rockets, and Still Receive US Funds
US State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki said at a press briefing on Wednesday that the US condemns the rocket fire from Gaza, and expects the Palestinian Unity Government and PUG president to condemn those attacks. But Psaki admits that condemning, not stopping those attacks is the maximum they expect from PUG President Mahmoud Abbas.

Furthermore, Psaki admits that even though Hamas is a member of the Palestinian Unity Government, the US admits that Hamas independently controls Gaza, and admits that Hamas launches rockets at Israel, and admits that the US will ignore all that continue to work with and fund the Palestinian Unity Government of which Hamas is a full member and consequently, a recipient of those US funds.
Along with the US refusal to take responsibility for subsidizing Palestinian terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians, comes word that the man that the US insists is a moderate peace maker is also not to be held responisible.

As far as the State Department is concerned, There's Not Much Abbas Can Do About Rocket Attacks:
“We believe that President Abbas must do all in his power to prevent deterioration in the security situation, but we would also note that he has upheld his responsibility to maintain security coordination with Israel and he has publicly stressed his commitment to do that. And so I think he has made every effort to be – continue to be a partner in this regard,” she added.

Asked whether the rocket attack has any bearing on Washington’s decision to work with the Hamas-Fatah unity government, Psaki responded, “It does not. Obviously, we’re concerned about it and we condemn it in the strongest terms. But his – President Abbas’s ability to impact these type of attacks is really severely limited at this point in time.”

US: Abbas not responsible for Palestinian terrorist attacks.
Remind us again why the US supports this terrorist alliance?

The article notes that Abbas did indeed condemn the rocket attack -- but not out of concern for the danger and potential loss of human life, but rather because he thought such attacks were a threat to the Hamas-Fatah unity government and Palestinian Arab security.

The man does know his priorities.

But Abbas's avoidance for his responsibilities is not something new.

Back in 2005, when he was in charge in Gaza, Haaretz reported that Abbas refused to take responsibility for rocket attacks against Israel even then:
Abbas even said that the Qassam rockets being fired from the Gaza Strip at Israel are "Israel's problem" and that he does not intend to interfere. "Let the Israelis deal with it," he said.
The Obama Administration sure knows how to pick 'em.
