Baka Diary writes about a Peace Concert in the Palestinian territories that had to be called off:
The Jericho event had drawn criticism from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist organization for its attempt to normalize ties with Israel.
C'mon Abbas, give peace a chance!

-----

Boker Tov, Boulder writes about an article in Haaretz that claims Condoleezza has expressed the opinion that Abbas is just like Martin Luther King. That would explain alot--and should serve as a warning to Israel as to where this is heading.

What can we expect from the summit in Annapolis? According to Daniel Pipes, "as the spectacle resumes next month, one braces, prepares for the worst, and hopes for only limited damage from this iteration."

-----

Elder of Ziyon quotes Ahmad Abed al Rahman--spokesperson of the Fatah movement and President Abbas' advisor--who made a statement about the upcoming summit

He concluded by saying that the Palestinian side has nothing to give up.

--including, one assumes, Chapter One, Article 12 of the Fatah Constitution: "Complete liberation of Palestine, and eradication of Zionist economic, political, military and cultural existence."

Unlike Article 24 of the original Palestinian National Charter--which Fatah did give up:

This Organization does not exercise any territorial sovereignty over the West Bank in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on the Gaza Strip or in the Himmah Area. Its activities will be on the national popular level in the liberational, organizational, political and financial fields.

Fatah has nothing to give up--and Israel has everything to lose.

Emes Ve-Emunah writes that unlike Oslo, where Rav Shach did not get involved, now Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv has joined in the protest urging the public to rally at a demonstration against the government's diplomatic platform.

Fiery Spirited Zionist has a post on how the PA kill a man and a 5-year old boy when the man tries to run a checkpoint--a sign of things to come under Fatah, as the world reacts with silence?

-----

FresnoZionism.org sees the Annapolis summit as having achieved the impossible: uniting Meretz MK Yossi Beilin and Likud MP Yuval Steinitz against the idea.

Mere Rhetoric writes about Egypt aiding Hamas--the kind of aid that gets Israelis killed. [BTW, Mere Rhetoric is going to law school--and is interested in any suggestions or advice you may have, especially if you are on the admissions board of a major law school.]

Smooth Stone has a post about the myth of the 2 Jerusalems.

Soccer Dad writes about cynicism about Annapolis that extends to Muslims as well as Israelis, including allies.

Sultan Knish writes about where Shas and Yisrael Beiteinu stand on all this.

Colossus of Rhodey
notes that some think that among the concessions that Israel will have to make for peace should be an apology.
